Drama Club is offered to EAC students as an after-school activity from Elementary through High School.
The program was developed based on the teachings of the American Viola Spolin. Spolin is an internationally recognized originator of Theater Games.

In addition to this methodology, the Drama Club also relies on the Collaborative Process, which is a contemporary way of doing theatre. This type of theater has its roots in Brazil, and first appeared in the early 80’s. The goal is to turn actors into “creator-actors”, giving them the opportunity of participating in all the areas of the productions, such as directing, producing, and even writing, or adapting the story itself. Thus the relationship between director and actors, or better yet, between teacher and students, becomes more horizontal, and every idea or decision in made together. Though there are defined roles within this process, students and teacher can transition within the roles.

The Drama Club meets once a week for an hour. The class is divided into two periods, one in which students participate in Theater Games and the other which is set aside for rehearsals. Students are responsible for putting together an end of the year performance, as well as for participating in smaller showings during other school events.
